We explain how federal economic and legislative policy works, and what just changed, in plain language and without a position on what you should think about it.
What we cover
Three areas: the Federal Reserve, federal spending and debt, and Congress. Each has a standing explainer page that we maintain rather than replace, plus dated posts when something happens.
What we do not do
We do not endorse candidates, parties or bills. We do not publish opinion columns. We do not accept sponsored content or paid placements of any kind.
Who publishes it
FEDPOLICY.ORG is edited and published by Clem Ziroli III. Every page is edited before it goes out, but not every word is written by hand: some content is drafted or maintained with algorithms and artificial-intelligence systems. The methodology page says how, and the terms of use say what that means for accuracy. It is one of several independent civic data sites in a small network that also includes congressvotetracker.org, govspending.org, ballotquestions.vote and civitasintel.com.

We are not affiliated with, funded by, or endorsed by any government agency, political party or advocacy organisation. Revenue comes from newsletter readership.
