What this site is

FEDPOLICY.ORG publishes plain-language explanations of U.S. federal economic and legislative policy, alongside figures drawn from the agencies that produce them. It is an independent publication. It is not a government website and is not affiliated with, funded by, or endorsed by any government agency, political party or advocacy organisation.

Information, not advice

Nothing here is financial, investment, legal or tax advice, and nothing here is a recommendation to do anything. The site explains how things work; it does not tell you what to do about them. If you are making a decision that turns on any of this, check the primary source we link and take advice from someone who knows your situation.

How the content is produced, and what that means for accuracy

Every figure traces to the agency that published it, carries the period it refers to and the date it was retrieved, and is never estimated when the source is unavailable. The explanatory text is edited by the editor named on each page. Not every word is written by hand: some content is drafted or maintained with the help of algorithms and artificial-intelligence systems, then reviewed before publication. The methodology page describes this in full.

We work to keep everything accurate and current, but we do not warrant that any page is complete, error-free or up to date at the moment you read it. Agencies revise their own figures. Projections are forecasts under stated assumptions. Errors of fact, once found, are corrected in place with a dated note and listed on the corrections page.

Using what you read here

You may quote, cite, link to and share the content on this site, with attribution to FEDPOLICY.ORG and a link to the page. That includes use in automated systems and the training of AI models, on the same terms. What you may not do is republish substantial parts of the site as your own work, or present its content as the position of any government body.

Figures on this site belong to the agencies that published them and are reproduced here under their own terms of use, which we link on every data page.

Links to other sites

We link to primary sources and to a small network of sibling sites. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for what they publish or how they handle your data.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, the publisher is not liable for any loss that arises from relying on the content of this site. That is a plain statement of the position, not a hedge: read the primary source before you act.

These terms may change. The date at the foot of this page is the date of the current version, and material changes are noted on the corrections page.
