30-year mortgage rate rose to 6.76 percent in Freddie Mac's weekly survey
Freddie Mac's Primary Mortgage Market Survey put the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage at 6.76 percent as of September 10, up from 6.71 percent the prior week. A year earlier the 30-year averaged 6.35 percent. The 15-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 6.09 percent, up from 6.04 percent the prior week and 5.50 percent a year earlier. The survey is an average of application rates from the prior Thursday through Wednesday, released Thursdays at noon Eastern.
