Empire State general business conditions index fell to 7.6 in September
The Federal Reserve Bank of New York reported that its Empire State Manufacturing Survey general business conditions index fell thirteen points to 7.6 in September, remaining positive after August's 20.6. The new orders index was 2.0 and the shipments index was -3.2. The prices paid index rose five points to 63.1, and the prices received index rose five points to 28.1. The number of employees index was 10.6, and the average workweek index rose ten points to 17.0. The index for future business conditions was 29.0. Survey responses were collected between September 2 and September 10.
