Employment Trends Index fell to 107.56 in September
The Conference Board said its Employment Trends Index fell to 107.56 in September, a 0.5 percent decline from a downwardly revised 108.08 in August. The share of consumers saying jobs are hard to get rose to 21.9 percent from a revised 20.3 percent. The share of small firms with positions they could not fill fell to 32 percent from 35 percent. The ratio of involuntary part-time workers to all part-time workers rose to 16.5 percent from 16.2 percent. Temporary-help employment fell by 10,900.
