Factory orders rose 0.9 percent in July to $663.6 billion
The Census Bureau said new orders for manufactured goods increased $5.8 billion or 0.9 percent in July to $663.6 billion, after a 0.2 percent decrease in June. Shipments increased 0.8 percent to $658.8 billion. Unfilled orders increased 0.6 percent to $1,600.3 billion. Inventories increased 0.4 percent to $966.9 billion.
