The 30-year fixed mortgage averaged 7.03 percent
Freddie Mac's Primary Mortgage Market Survey for September 24 put the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage at 7.03 percent, up from 6.95 percent on September 17 and 6.30 percent a year earlier. The 15-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 6.42 percent, up from 6.26 percent the prior week and 5.49 percent a year earlier.
